   Why in News?

In an important milestone in the induction of the Pinaka rocket system in the Armed forces, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) recently handed over the Authority Holding Sealed Particulars (AHSP) of the system to the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) of the Ministry of Defence.

Key points:

Pinaka is a free flight artillery rocket system having a range of 37.5 km.
Pinaka rockets are launched from a multi-barrel rocket launcher which has a capability to launch 12 rockets in 44 seconds.
The weapon system is designed and developed by Pune-based DRDO lab, Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE).

1) Workers' right to life cannot be deemed contingent on the mercy of their employer or the State, remarked the Supreme Court observed in the judgment allowing Gujarat Mazdoor Sabha's writ petition on Thursday.

2) Advocate Prashant Bhushan has filed another petition in the Supreme Court, this time seeking review of the sentencing order August 31, 2020, whereby the Top Court imposed a fine of Re. 1 upon him in the suo moto contempt case.

3) The Supreme Court has quashed the notification issued by the Gujarat Labour and Employment Department granting exemptions to all factories in Gujarat from provisions of the Factories Act, 1948 relating to daily working hours, weekly working hours, intervals for rest and spread overs of adult workers as well as from payment of overtime wages at double rates viz. Section 59.

4) Delhi High Court has stayed the directions issued by the Central Government to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India prohibiting the blending of mustard oil.
